Stephanie Holt is an editor by profession, with a specialisation in editing on Australian history, sport, art and culture. She joined the History Council of Victoria as Executive Officer in December 2023.

She was a teacher and manager for many years with RMIT University’s Professional Writing and Editing programs. A former Meanjin editor, she later worked with Overland literary journal, and has served as President of Editors Victoria, and on the board of the Institute of Professional Editors, Australia New Zealand. Her abiding love of history took a Covid-era turn when she discovered forebears spanning four generations had settled in the goldfields area where she lives, so she is now immersed in local and family history explorations.
